The Artist’s Way by Julia Cameron because doing her course made me joyful.

Visual art

Who is your celebrity crush?

I don’t have one now but my first celebrity crush was Kevin Bacon and I now follow him on Instagram, singing and playing music in his apartment with his wife, Kyra Sedgwick.

What was your first job: (what and did you love it/hate it/grow from it?)

My first job was a waiter in a late-night café. I began as a timid mouse in the kitchen and grew into a lion-tamer of drunken theatre patrons, upselling coffee and Italian triple-layered cakes.

Biography

Anomie Atkins helps parents and parents-to-be raise magnificent children.

Passionate about putting the love you have for your child into action, Anomie has developed a Purposeful Parenting program. As a Certified Professional Coach she helps her clients establish their values and decide what kind of parent they plan to be, while elevating their own levels of mindfulness and presence so they can stay sane and enjoy the ride. Anomie celebrates unique individuals and seeks authenticity in her own life.

Anomie is an award-winning writer and published researcher working towards health equity in Australia.

In these roles, she has interviewed filmmaking luminaries and inspirational health professionals from a variety of cultural backgrounds from across Australasia.

In her writing, Anomie explores gender, justice, trauma and healing using embodied creative techniques to develop character. Her methods and ideas have been presented at international conferences across a range of fields.

When she is not working, Anomie’s favourite ways to spend her time are with her daughter exploring nature and reading children’s adventure stories together in bed.
